I am shedding
rags of skin
falling from shoulders,
chest
a new being emerges
stretched upon the skeleton
of the old/new
feelings arise
and fly off
I rise, take a step
a wing breaks through
there just
below the
shoulder
blade
glistening, a new
appendage
misshapen, unfolding
glow of rain on skin
moves silently
overhead
in circles
while
the rooks stay behind
towering on roof and
door
above, I, glistening
rise and follow
trembling
nerve flesh
hollow bone
touching
tests
the wind
in ecstasy
