Blessed, Best Boys' second full-length production, was written by Nova Scotian writer 
Dawn Rae Downton.

Downton had sent me the script several years earlier and I was excited by its premise: What if you died and went to the Pearly Gates and found, not a saviour waiting to forgive your sins, but some whirly-twirly Vanna White look-a-like who prolongs your suffering till you give the letter-perfect answers to her questions?

I sent it back with suggestions and three years later she presented Best Boys with her newly completed divine comedy, which we staged at The Annex Theatre in June 1994. It starred Ron Kennel, Raphael Pacitti, Chris Healey, and Kaya McGregor as Mary the Vanna-wannabe.
