Best
Boys Productions was formed in Toronto, Canada, in 1992 by Jeffrey Round
and John Davison.
Our initiative was driven by a sense of dissatisfaction with the current state of gay theatre in Toronto. Like many other gay theatre-goers, we didn't feel we were seeing anything on Toronto stages that truly represented us. Not that there was anything radically wrong with what was being offered--it just didn't interest us, either as theatre or social comment.
Helped out greatly by the enthusiasm and encouragement of friends and colleagues, Best Boys Productions was in the next wave of queer theatre demanding to be heard. Today, there is a host of gay and lesbian-produced theatre in Toronto, and our community benefits from the richness and diversity it offers. We like to think that Best Boys played a role in making this a reality.
Best Boys is now turning its efforts to making films. Watch for us!
